Job Description
Title: POLICE OFFICER
SALARY: Based on Qualification ($26,619 anticipated) plus benefits.
DEADLINE: APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS. CONTACT: Call Chief of Police, Mark Brock, at (770) 258-3301 for more information. The Police Department operates on a 12 hour shift (3 days on, 4 day off during week-A, 4 days on, 3 days off on week-B for an 84 hour biweekly average).
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Applicants must be at least 21 years old and must have a high school diploma or GED certificate, a citizen of the United States and must not have any felony convictions. Georgia law enforcement certification preferred but not required.
Must possess a valid Operators, State of Georgia driver's license at the time of appointment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible police work in the protection of life and property through prevention of crime and the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Employees in this class are responsible for the prevention, detection and investigation of crimes. Duties of this class may include various specialized assignments. Work requires the use and exercise of independent judgment.
Problem solving duties are oriented towards Community Policing concept wherein Officers are required to work closely with the community in identifying, developing, and implementing ways to effectively and proactively address community issues requiring police intervention.
