The Bowdon Area Historical Society is a non-profit organization chartered
in 1985. Today there are 75+ members. Regular meetings are the 2nd Tuesday
of each month beginning with food and fellowship at 6:30 PM and ending
with a program of historic significance. Headquarters: The Meeting Place
(formerly Methodist Protestant Church behind gym of Bowdon High School)
Purpose:
• To preserve the heritage of the Bowdon area including historical
sites
• To promote the history of the area and create an awareness of
its importance
