The Mike Steed Stage

In September 2019, the stage at Copeland Hall was named The Mike Steed Stage after his unfortunate passing in 2020. Mike Steed, who served on various city committees and commissions for many years, was a beloved member of the Bowdon community. During the years of the "Sertoma Concert Series ," sponsored by the Bowdon Sertoma Club, many well known performers visited the Copeland Hall stage. Mike Steed was the driving force behind booking, publicizing, and organizing these popular concerts. When he spoke about the concerts, his face lit up as he shared his passion and enjoyment of musical acts of all kinds. His love of all things musical, all things Bowdon, and people in general, was contagious, and the Copeland Hall stage, now the Mike Steed Stage, is one of the many legacies he left behind.
