Request for Bids Surplus Real Property
Submittal Deadline: 11:00a.m., Friday, October 2, 2026
Submittal Delivery: Sealed submittals will be received and time stamped at this location only: City of Bowdon 182 Grammar School Road Bowdon, Georgia 30108

Submittal Opening: Sealed submittals in response to an RFB will be opened by the City Manager and read aloud during a public bid opening held in Room 132 inside the Municipal Complex. After 1:00p.m. the day of bid opening, the names of bidders submitting proposals are posted to the website for public viewing.
Solicitation Documents: An electronic copy of the complete solicitation documents may be obtained by emailing belliott@bowdon.net.
Pre-Proposal Meeting: A pre-proposal meeting will not be held.
Project Scope: The City of Bowdon is seeking bids for the sale of this surplus real property.
Minimum Bid Amount: $35,000.00

Bowdon Historic District Review
Please see the below link for the final passage materials for the three historic districts. The link has the designation reports, designation ordinances, updated maps, digital shapefiles, and representative photographs of the district.
I would like to thank you all for choosing my firm to handle this important project, and for considering such a project that will have immeasurable value for the city well into the future. Future generations will thank you for securing the city's culture, legacy and history.
Once again, we did excellent work and I look forward to us embarking on the second and final phase of three additional historic districts when the city is ready.

Designating Three Local Historic Districts
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Bowdon will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at 182 Grammar School Road, Bowdon, GA 30108, to consider a proposal to designate three local historic districts in the City of Bowdon.
The City previously conducted a Community Engagement Meeting on July 22, 2026, and the Planning Commission meeting on August 11, 2026, where the proposed districts were reviewed.
The proposed Downtown Bowdon Historic District would encompass properties from Mill Street to Commerce Street along East and West College Street, North Johnson Street, Griffins Alley, City Hall Avenue, West Burson Avenue, and Wood Alley. The proposed Sewell Mill Historic District is roughly bounded by City Hall Avenue, Pine Avenue, Pine Street, and East College Street. The proposed East College Street Historic District is bounded by Grammar School Drive and Morris Lane, including properties on Smith Avenue, Rebecca Morris Circle, and East College Street.
